Excerpt from Seabiscuit: Wild Pony of the Outer Banks

There once was a pony named Seabiscuit. She lived near the edge of the ocean on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Her father was a brown stallion named Nautilus and her mother a was a white mare named Angel Wing.

Seabiscuit was a golden color, like sunlight on the sand in the early morning. In the center of her forehead was a round marking which looked like a seashell found on the Outer Banks. This shell is call a seabiscuit, and that is how Seabiscuit got her name.
