Nan Graham, born in Tallahassee, Florida, grew up in South Carolina, Alabama and Georgia. She graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received her graduate degree from The Citadel in Charleston. Except for a foray into Manhattan as a young adult, she has always lived in the South.
An instructor in English at UNC-Wilmington, Nan has been a bi-weekly commentator for the local public broadcasting station WHQR for the past six years. The familiar sign-off line to these commentaries is “Commentator Nan Graham is a lifelong Southerner.” She is co-author of a novel (set in the Depression in the North Carolina mountains) and hopes that the revision she is currently working on will be the final one.
Nan lives in Wilmington, North Carolina with her husband, a West Highland terrier, and a semi-feral cat named Sumter.
